Open the player's Steam profile and read the rating off the profile page. That is the only reliable answer, because inside CS2 there is no search box for other people's Premier rating. With Pulse installed, a stats panel appears on the profile and shows peak and current Premier rating side by side, each drawn on the background of its own rating tier, so the colour tells you the bracket at a glance. Underneath it lists per-map competitive ranks, and you choose how many of those are shown in the extension's options page.
What the rating number means
Premier ratings fall into seven colour bands, and the colour is the part players actually recognise. Pulse draws each rating on the background of its own band, so you read the bracket before you read the digits:
- 0 to 4,999 grey
- 5,000 to 9,999 light blue
- 10,000 to 14,999 blue
- 15,000 to 19,999 purple
- 20,000 to 24,999 pink
- 25,000 to 29,999 red
- 30,000 and above yellow
Those bands are the game's, not ours, so the same rating reads the same colour wherever you look at it. One thing worth saying about the number itself: it does not map onto an old CS:GO skill group. There is no rating that "is" Legendary Eagle, and any table claiming otherwise is someone's guess.
Peak and current, and why the pair is the useful part
Pulse shows both side by side, and the gap between them usually tells you more than either number alone. A low current with a much higher peak is the returning player: the skill was there, the rating decayed or a bad run ate it. A high current sitting right on the peak, on a thin match count, is the shape a fresh account makes, which is why the same panel puts the number of analysed matches next to it. Neither is proof of anything on its own, and that is the point of showing you both instead of one figure.
Where the number comes from
Not from the game. We checked this the direct way, by asking Counter-Strike's own game coordinator about the players in a match: the ranks list came back empty for all six of them. Valve does not hand out other people's ratings, so no extension can read a Premier rating out of the game itself, whatever it claims. What Pulse reads instead is the player's public match history through the services that already analyse it, and those sources are named on the homepage.
When it works and when it does not
Two things have to be true. The player must have played rated matches, because an unrated account has no Premier rating to show. And the data has to be public: a private Steam profile, or private match history, shows nothing, in Pulse or in any other tool. Nobody can work around that, and you should be suspicious of anything that claims otherwise. If the panel comes up empty, the usual cause is one of those two, not a bug.
What else the panel shows
Alongside the rating there is a separate in-game section with Private Rank, XP progress and commendations. That part is about the account rather than the skill bracket, and it is useful for the same reason people look up Premier in the first place: judging whether a new teammate is a fresh account or someone who has been playing for years.
Setting it up
Pulse is free, needs no account, no login and no API key, and asks for a single
permission, storage, which it uses to remember your settings. Install it, open any
Steam profile, and the panel is there. Nothing to configure first. What it does with data is
written out in the privacy policy.

Common questions
Can I see another player's Premier rating inside CS2? No. The game shows ratings for you and for your friends, and there is no search box for anyone else. That restriction is Valve's and it is the reason this guide exists.
Why is the CS2 Premier rating missing on a Steam profile? Three causes cover almost all of it: the profile or its match history is private, the account has never played rated matches, or the analysis services have not seen that account. None of them is a bug, and nothing can work around a private profile.
Is the peak Premier rating an official Valve figure? No. It is the highest rating found in the match history that could be analysed, so it is a floor rather than a certified record. If an account's best season happened somewhere nobody analysed, the peak will read lower than the truth.
